What colours are available?
Woven Ties – All our tie fabrics are woven entirely to your specification and use our stock range of over 200 different colours. The colour of the fabric is a function of the weft and warp colours used, the weaves used and the deniers of the yarn. Weft colours are often toned down by the warp and it can be difficult to achieve certain tones of cream and flesh colours.
Dye Printed Ties – There are really no limits to the colours that can be achieved with this production technique. Undyed fabric is dyed using screens that are specially engraved to fit together. The dyes are specially mixed each time and can be pantone matched.
Which is the normal Size of a Tie?
Our standard Gent’s tie is 142cms (long) x 9.5cm wide (widest part of the blade). We can however alter this to meet your preference.
Which different qualities of fabric can be supplied?
In UK, we weave 100% Polyester, 100% Silk and a Silk/Polyester blend (Silk weft and Polyester warp).
For Chinese production, we offer 100% Polyester and 100% Silk.
What time scale can I expect from placement of order?
UK orders
A sample length of fabric will typically be sent to you in 10-14 days from receipt of order and approval of any artwork.
From approval of the sample, we have to weave the fabric and make it up into ties, which typically takes a further 2-3 weeks. Larger orders, over 5,000, are no problem but may take an extra week or two to complete but we’ll advise at point of order and keep you upto date with progress throughout the order.
How much does artwork cost?
Artwork is free of charge and includes amendments; we’re here to help and know that getting the right CAD design will mean you are delighted with the final delivery of ties & scarves
Can I see a sample before I confirm the order?
Absolutely, in fact we recommend it. A sample length will be produced and sent to you prior to confirming the order. One sample is free of charge; changes after this sample will incur a surcharge however we strive to ensure that by sample stage you are already delighted by the design! We only charge for samples is if the order is cancelled; see below.
What happens if the order is cancelled?
Until we start the technical design element of an order, we are prepared to absorb any costs involved. Once we have completed the techical design and sampled a piece of fabric, we would make a charge of around £200 to cover costs involved.
